Celiac Disease
Celiac Disease is a medical condition in which the absorptive surface of the small intestine is damaged by a number of proteins found in grains, and referred to collectively as 'gluten'. This results in an inability of the body to absorb nutrients: protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, which are necessary for good health. Read more....
LiaisonThe Liaison Committee is the first point of contact with the Chapter for those who wish information about celiac disease, the gluten-free diet, or the Canadian Celiac Association. We provide information via telephone or mailed pamphlets, or in the case of organizations such as restaurants, retirement homes, and interest groups in general, by delivering appropriate lectures and presentations.
